Being a playwright or screenwriter is a dream many people have. I hope they                       use this site, either to get started or to answer to specific questions. First,                         of course, you want to know exactly who is providing the information and how                     in the world does she know? That's the question I asked when I began my j                         journey into dramatic writing. It's wise for you do the same. So who is Wendy                     Jane Henson, and what qualifies her to talk give advice about writing, let alone                   plays and screenplays?

 

Trained as an actor, director, and teacher, I hold a bachelor's degree in theater arts and a masters degree in playwriting with a screenwriting emphasis. My background includes 23 years working in educational and civic theater. In addition to being a produced, published playwright, my experience includes some screenwriting awards,  six screenplay options, four trips through development hell, and one "almost produced" feature film.  

 

Having taught college level theater arts and creative writing for 12 years, I am the author of SCREENWRITING, STEP BY STEP, published by Allyn & Bacon/Pearson Education.
